South Philly SausageFest Returns To West Passyunk Avenue
The family-friendly food festival will take place on Saturday, September 30
PHILADELPHIA (August 31, 2017) Get those grills ready, because the South Philly SausageFest is coming back!
The Newbold Community Development Corporation (CDC) is pleased to announce the return of the third annual South Philly SausageFest on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from noon to 8:00 p.m. on West Passyunk Avenue, from South Broad Street to 15th Street.
The neighborhood-favorite food festival will feature Autumn craft beer from local breweries, live music, and (of course) plenty of sausage and sausage dishes from South Philadelphia restaurants. This year’s festival will feature six diverse restaurants, eight local craft breweries and distilleries, six live music shows, and a variety of arts and crafts vendors, plus a special activities area for children.
Restaurants including Mike’s BBQ, Taproom on 19th, South Philly Tap Room, and Café y Chocolate will be serving up sausages in a variety of styles (including vegan options!), and offering their own unique take on this tasty dish.
Local breweries will also be getting in on the fun, with South Philly favorites like Brewery ARS and Point Breeze Brewing Company pouring classic drafts and special brews all day long.
“SausageFest has become a great event for the Newbold community, and we’re so excited to bring it back for a third year,” said Newbold CDC President Tim Lidiak. “This year’s festival will feature several new offerings – including Manatawny Still Works which will be teaming up with The Thirsty Soul’s Billy Hines, the New Orleans-inspired bar maestro, who will be serving up some delightful cocktails, including his famous Sucker Punch!”
